Congratulations to Hydro Utilities and Padenga Agribusiness (Pvt) Ltd on receiving the Zeb Murungweni Award for Outstanding Design and Supervision of a Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant at The Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers Awards Ceremony.

Hydro Utilities was commissioned to design a water and wastewater treatment plant in the Mashonaland West Province of Zimbabwe and the award winning project was officially commissioned on 20 March 2025.

This treatment plant is the first of its kind in Zimbabwe and will significantly improve water quality in Lake Kariba. It meets key sustainability goals through the reuse of treated water for irrigation, and the repurpose of dried sludge for compost and fertilizer.
